Shadows and Triangles
In the beginning of this project, our class got together into groups of four, and tried finding a solution to a shadow problem dealing with the middle school and the garden next to it. The problem stated, "How much higher can the middle school building be without it's shadow ever touching the garden in front of the elementary school?" At first we created hypothesises and diagrams, and then we went outside to create measurements to test our theories. We also measured the shadows of small objects or pieces of wood with flashlights, rulers, and objects.
